En 1921, contratado por la Víctor, viajó a Estados Unidos junto con el pianista Enrique Delfino (quien sería el artífice del tango romanza) y el violinista Tito Roccatagliata para integrar, junto a otros músicos, la Orquesta Típica Select, que grabó medio centenar de temas.
